I am a licensed clinical social worker who is passionate about helping people find their worth and create meaningful relationships.

I believe every person has the strength and capacity to create the changes they seek. Together we will assess your concerns and develop a plan that will help improve your quality of life and wellbeing.  You deserve to feel better and to see real benefits from therapy.

My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, authenticity and humility.  Since there isn’t one therapeutic model that fits everyone, I utilize an integrative approach to therapeutic work, incorporating several evidenced based treatment modalities such as mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).  I am happy to discuss any of these with you.

Respect for your experience:

At my core is deep awe and respect for the unique experiences of each individual. This includes experiences at each stage of life, not the least of which is childhood. These experiences are pivotal in shaping how we see ourselves and others and how we make sense of the world. It is with this in mind that we will work together to understand how past experiences contribute to current challenges and how we can resolve them.

My work also affords me the opportunity to work with individuals across the lifespan, from a multitude of backgrounds and perspectives. I recognize that my social location may differ from those I work with and continually strive to acknowledge my own implicit biases and lack of shared experiences that come up during our work.

Perinatal Work:

The perinatal period is such an intense time of life. While there are immense joys associated with this period, there are also great challenges, hardships, losses and stress. It is important to feel supported and get the help you need during this time. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are treatable and we will work together to ensure you feel better.

Education and Training:

I earned my bachelor’s degree in social work and psychology from UW-Madison and my master’s degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis. I have worked in community mental health, outpatient mental health and substance abuse settings. I completed my EMDR training in 2018 and am certified to practice EMDR by the EMDR International Association. I have also completed a certificate training on maternal mental health through Postpartum Support International.
